Our parish is a member of the Orthodox Church in America, Diocese of the Midwest (Chicago Deanery). We are conveniently located in Burbank, IL 3 miles due south of Chicago's Midway Airport. You are cordially invited to join us in worshiping the Holy Trinity, surrounded by the saints of North America. Come to experience the spiritual beauty of Orthodoxy and meet our warm community.
Please feel free to contact us, visit for a service, or attend one of our upcoming 100th anniversary events. May the Lord God bless you!

Archangel Michael parish traces its origins to 1903, when the first documented liturgical act took place: a baptism performed in a private home by St. John Kochurov, a Russian immigrant priest who later returned to Russia and was the first priest to be martyred by the Bolshevik Communists in October of 1917.
In 1909, the community formally organized into a parish and, in 1910, built a church in its South Side Chicago neighborhood. Decades later parishioners decided to relocate and build a new church; in 1970, the parish purchased land and began moving to the near suburb, Burbank. After the rectory and the social hall were built, the current white brick church was constructed in 1982, largely through the labor of the members. The facade features a beautiful mosaic icon of Archangel Michael over the doorway. Within the nave is the familiar iconostasis of an Orthodox church -- featuring icons of beloved saints and the major feast days of the calendar -- and along the walls are saints of North America.
