001Rev. Fr. Gregory (Charles) Bruner grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Religion in 2004 from the University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Indiana. Raised Roman Catholic, he was introduced to the Orthodox Church in college, and began attending Ss. Constatine and Elena Orthodox Church (Romanian Episcopate).  After a period as a catechumen, he was received into the Orthodox Church on Lazarus Saturday, 2003.

Having always felt a calling to serve the Church, he enrolled in seminary 2004, and completed his theological studies at St. Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, New York, and received a Master of Divinity degree in 2007. During his seminary years he was very involved in chapel life and the music program, traveling with the St. Vladimir's Chorale to Florida in January of 2005.

Fr. Gregory was ordained a deacon on Forgiveness Sunday in 2006 and served at St. Vladimir's Seminary while completing his studies.  He was afforded the opportunity to travel on occasion to the Diocese of New England to assist with serving at several hierarchical liturgies.

On the Feast of Holy Ascension in 2008 he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Job, of blessed memory, at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Albion, Michigan, where he was subsequently assigned to serve as second priest. In December 2008, he was placed on loan to serve St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Appleton, Wisconsin.  In September 2010, he was recalled to the OCA to serve at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet, Illinois where he served joyfully until his reassignment to Archangel Michael Orthodox Church in Burbank, Illinois.

In 2005, Fr. Gregory married Matushka Ksenia Bruner (nee Babich). She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and History from Brandeis University (2000), and a Master of Arts Degree in Religious Education from St. Vladimir's Seminary (2005). They have been blessed with two children.
